Here's what the WU ZBP Career Profiler can do for you / Here's why you should use the WU ZBP Career Profiler:

  1. Ideas: The WU ZBP Career Profiler encourages you to think about your career aspirations, goals and preferences. Do you prefer option A - or do you prefer option B? Do you like one job or another more? By weighing alternatives, you begin to reflect and learn to assess yourself better. This will help you in your further decisions. We are convinced that the planning of your professional career must suit you.
  2. Profile: You will receive the results of your answers in an evaluation report. Here you can see the assessment of your interests, values and strengths and can get ideas with which "total package" you enter the working world. Please note: the WU ZBP Career Profiler does not give you complete answers, but primarily a basis for reflection. Maybe you can't understand some of the results - then use them for an extra round of reflection. Perhaps you will then come up with new AHA insights? By the way, in the evaluation report you will also see your results compared to other applicants. In this way, you will learn to appreciate your individuality and uniqueness even better.
  3. Application: By knowing your goals and profile better, you will be more targeted in your applications. You now have a concrete idea of what you can do and what you want. On the one hand, this helps you to find suitable job advertisements, on the other hand, it helps you to write your application documents and thirdly, of course, it helps you during the interview.

What the Career Profiler is not:

The WU ZBP Career Profiler helps guide you on your path to a job. The questionnaire relies on you to take a hard look at yourself, to look behind your desires and values, and to reflect on your ideas and beliefs. See your results as food for thought.

Very important: There is no right or wrong here! You are you - and that is good! No matter what your profile looks like: The next thought should always be "How do I use this profile for my career?" and not "How do I change my profile to fit?". Because strictly speaking, your career path should fit YOU and not YOU should fit a career path.

Also, the WU ZBP Career Profiler never has the final say. Your preferences change. If you take the questionnaire again in a year, it is very likely that something will have changed in your answers based on new experiences and insights. It is best to view your results as the current status quo.

The ZBP Career Profiler is not a purely psychometric project, but an applied project that operationalizes scientific findings. It aims to put the sometimes conflicting claims of multiple objectives of academic career counseling into a meaningful combination. It is thus a central pillar of a realistic didactic, procedural-advisory, and measurement concept. Its further development is based on application findings and feedback from the WU ZBP Career Center and thus on participant feedback.
